The idea, Gerard, is to extend this board infinitely as a transparent interface through which disparate intellects may communicate freely regardless of national, cultural, social, sexual, political, and geographical boundaries. Contrary to the earlier concept of the dialup BBS, where you entered what was in essence a private salon to which you subscribed, there is no charge to participate in the forums on CHALKBOARD and, moreover, it can be accessed from any computer in any country. This is the way we hope to keep it - no bouncers at the gate - unless, that is, some clowns mess it up (believe me they have tried) and then we may have to issue passwords. For now it's as open as the sky. The beauty of this system is that you not only can post a message, but also link images and pages that reside on other sites, thus this Chalkboard is an osmosis of creativity. I like your pub analogy too; an area of passage and rest where kindly souls can imbibe wonderful elixirs (some are embedded in the white spaces of this--text) and tune into the zeitgeist. Like Cocteau's Orpheus, recieving on his bakerlite radio cryptic poetry from Hades.
