april gornik's work to post here... there's a percentage of her work that is beautiful, and I think neglected for lack of the testosterone-poisoning-effect... like casebere, the 'absent' is quite present in her environments... which conjures something which can be perilously close to the sentimental or the decorative... it's a fine line to tread, especially so because it speaks to a condition of emotional subtlety... and much to much of the stuff that gets all the attention has no sense of this kind of subtlety... I think it's time to slow down and reflect on what's really being said.
