I can only daydream a supposition: Being filled with desire is the purest form. In a commodity masochistic culture union is to be avoided because it leads to expenditure. Ecstasy is achievable by maintaining onešs position in the hieararchy. Identity is defined by a relation to media culture. The media star is the object of adoration. Within this matrix the fan completes the symbiosis. Both are commodities.The star is one form (object). The fans are another (potential customers). Both have had their desire/ gratification axis displaced to an endlessly repetitive simulation.
