Paglia takes a step into deep time, where the permutations of myth and language become intertwined, and consciousness, as we (hopefully) know it was still half formed, falling between the poles of primary awareness and the flux of abstraction.

She limits her analysis of the human project to that which is sapiens, and contains all that is prior within an image of psychic chaos.
