Yes, this relationship of the internal to the external is, indeed, something that concerns me as an artist,
but I think it is also a universal predicament. What feeds the creative fire is the need to define and find
an external simile for the Self, which, upon being externalized, becomes the Other. All that we create is a
reflection and definition of our innate bio/socio/psycho geometries. And it's such a wonderful game!
We never move quite fast enough to tap that Lady on the shoulder and have her turn in self-recognition.
For each thing we concieve, each thing we produce or create, changes the rules, the perspective,
our definitions and what defines us. The most extraordinary and terrible things we can imagine and create are
always within the parameters of our present knowledge. All prophecies are phrased in the technology of their
time. We push the envelope of the possible and we evolve. The things that we made external create
a new scenario that extend the realm of the possible, that extends our ideas about ourselves. We are always in
need of Sanctuary, a return to the Coil, but we are in a constant state of birth. So we build structures, to
emulate order, but our impetus brings them dowm.
