and now that this became a food-fight...

And now that dan and ray (see his gem near the bottom) have turned this thread into some kind of 'my rag is bigger than your rag' food fight, who and why on earth did anyone misread the obvious generality and invitational tone of the first para of this thread? Did they not understand the meaning of 'top of head' 'etc.' or 'if anyone has their favorites', 'not inclusive or exhaustive'.... Or are you just trolls in the costumes of poets? What IQ would one have to have to understand the intention of a thread to exchange pointers to sites which might have interest and high-quality (who cares about all your qualifiers - make your own thread - 'my tastes are better than yours' if you like). All that was passe' years ago. get real. : Speaking of prestige and ezines, Ernest, raises : In a list exemplary but not inclusive or exhaustive: : On the side of reputation and solid experience and selectivity of the editors I'd have to put my money on pubs like 'Non' (with contributors like Bernstein or Bromige), 'Free Cusineart'; 'Missippi Review (Web ed); 'Oysterboy'; 'Blue Moon'; 'Zuzu's Petals'; 'Snakeskin'; 'Recursive Angel' etc. and a few specialty pubs like 'Taverner's Koans'. The editors there are highly known and regarded and the funnel-neck to acceptance tight as a gnats-ass. 'Big bridge' and the ones you mention may be as well - i'm not as familiar with them. : On another side are those venues that have endured and persisted in advancing the project both by hosting top talent and also giving some first-rate unknowns exposure. I have to put Dennis Gaugin's 'Poetry Cafe' and Mary Lowery's 'Poetry Express' at the top of my list. They've posted the likes of Gene Doty, Jerry Jenkins, Lyn Lifshin, Janet Bernichon and other first-rate poets as well as making space and giving big efforts to hosting quality work of lesser knowns - year after year. : Don't nobody jump me for not listing their favorites. It was off the top of my head and just examples. If anyone has their favorites of really top critical or advancement-effort sites, well subpost 'em here. Be nice to compare notes - tastes/opinions of top-rate ezines. : -rs
