No, I haven't read this, yet, but I shall go out to the Strand Book store later today to find it. Thank you for telling me about it.
Like any other artist, I suppose, I have always been fascinated and puzzled by the dichotomy between the 'inner space' of memory, reflection and abstraction, and the outer reality; that which is external to the skin, the grit and passage of the sunlit world. Artists believe so much in the perseverance and importance of this inner sanctuary that they will endure almost any personal hardship to trace its secret paths.
